2009 Spring Newsletter

A warm hello to our cottage and boating customers! May this spring newsletter find you well after a long hard winter.  We have not been idle at The Ivy Lea Club and now want to update you on our activities, share plans for the upcoming season, and remind boaters and cottagers of a few important seasonal details.  Please keep reading for more information and as always, feel free to contact us with your questions or comments.  By the way, for those of you who have already booked, the countdown is on! And for those still planning their summer, we hope you will once again consider The Ivy Lea Club as your holiday destination.

UPGRADES & A NEW RESTAURANT NAME

  1. Reception - After several seasons of residence in a temporary trailer, it will be our great pleasure to welcome you to our recently completed Reception Building! You will find a lovely reception area, boardroom, full kitchen, two bathrooms, and offices for the accommodations and Marine branches.
  2. Coach House - In late 2008, we completed the Coach House with furniture and equipment in order to maximize use of this spectacular building.  Our Coach House can now serve as an extraordinary location for your next meeting or small event.  Conatct reception@ivylea.ca for more information
  3. Restaurant - We are also in the midst of a major restaurant overhaul.  Our objective is to extend our restaurant season.  So far, we have installed new siding, roof, windows, and air conditioning; and redesigned the dininig room.  Most exciting overhaul of all?  Our restaurant's name! As for this season, the restaurant will be known simply as THE IVY.  Head chef Rob Gobbo, along with his qualified staff, will continue his tradition of unique flavours, presentation, and top notch service.   Joining the team will be floor Manager, Didier Grimaud, who brings years of restaurant experience - most recently from the Toronto area.  We are delighted to have him join The Ivy Lea Club team.
  4.  Marina - First I would like to thank all of you for your continued support and I look forward to welcoming you back this spring,  and secondly, with our launch time in a mere three weeks away,  I want to call your attention to the 2009 launch procedure.
  • Shrink Wrapping - As always you can choose to personally remove shrink or have it done by The Ivy Lea Club.  The $150 fee for latter covers labour costs.   Contact Tim at tim@ivylea.ca if you would like the Club to help and ensure you are on the shrink wrap schedule.  Turtle Island Recycling is scheduled to pick up wrap during the first week of May.
  • Mechanical - Howard's Marine is onboard again this season and they will be responsible for on-site mechanical work.  Contact Paula at 613.659.3485 if you have any questions.  Note: If you paid last fall, your paid fee will apply to this year's service.

Launch Date - Scheduled launching of boats will begin the last week of April.  Our goal is to have all boats launched by the May long weekend.
